About Waukegan North Beach

The north end of this beach is adjacent to the NRG Power Plant land and not part of the Waukegan park district. The Waukegan Beach rangers do not enforce here -- one regular says that he's spoken to them while unclothed and they were cool... but I would still advise caution. There is a fee for admission on weekends between Memorial and Labor Day. On weekends, there may be many boaters picnicking here, usually textiled.

Park at the Waukegan North Beach, then walk north until you are along the old power plant. Take the Sunrise Trail (just south of the midpoint), not the Michigan Trail (at the north end) because that doesn't cross the creek.
